无毒学校和社区法案(DFSCA) -雇员

酒精’s effects vary from person to person, depending on a variety of factors, including how much you drink, how often you drink, your family history, your age 和 your health 状态. Abuse of alcohol has been shown to cause serious health problems including:

Frequent or heavy use of alcoholic beverages can result in negative brain development; cirrhosis of the liver; cancer of the liver; cancer of the mouth, throat, 和 pancreas; stomach ulcers; heart damage; lowered sex hormone production; 和 lowered immunity 感染和疾病.

  • 酒精 use by pregnant women can also cause birth defects, lowered birth weight 和/or 严重的心理障碍.
  • 酒精 use is involved in most 校园 behavioral concerns: assaults, accidents, 和 other issues that impede student health/safety 和 academic success.
  • Use of alcohol is involved in half of all traffic-related deaths 和 permanent disabilities.

A drug is a chemical substance that can change how your mind 和 body work, 和 drug use can hurt not only the people who take the drugs, but also the people around them.  Abuse of drugs has been shown to cause serious health issues including:

The use of illegal drugs, including but not limited to marijuana, cocaine, heroin, crack, amphetamines, psychedelics 和 so-called “designer drugs” has been shown to 导致身体和精神紊乱.

  • Lung damage (including lung cancer), lowered immunity to disease, memory loss, depression, flashbacks, lowered production of sex hormones, birth defects, low birth weight infants 和 严重的心理障碍 may result from the use of drugs.

纪律制裁
For employees found to be in violation of the university's policy on drug 和 alcohol 滥用, disciplinary sanctions may range from a reprim和 to suspension without pay 一段适当的时间或终止雇佣关系. 未被解雇的违规者 may be required to complete an approved drug or alcohol 滥用 assistance or rehabilitation 程序. Failure to complete the 程序 may result in immediate termination of employment.

An employee who violates any of these alcohol or drug laws will be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency 和 will be subject to prosecution in accordance 有了法律.
